THE SECRET OF MY SUCCESS - Orji Uzor Kalu

My grand mother told me that I should never have the intention to cheat anybody I have any dealings with; I should be forthright and sincere with the person. 

What I can do I 'll say yes I can do, and what I can not do,I'll tell you no I can not do this. That is it, that is the secret of my success. Whether am going to make money or not is not important, what is important is to tell you, yes I can do this, no I can not do this.

In fact even when we were having dinner in the ambassadors house, he saw how forthright I was about our country because he's also an Igbo like me. He called me aside and said no you don't have to be so open, you need to use diplomacy. I told him you know am not a diplomat, I don't understand that path, my own is to go straight. 

Even when I was governor, president Olusegun Obasanjo will give me credit, what nobody could tell him, in secret, I'd give him advice that nobody will dare to tell him. Even the late wife gave me credit alot of times for being forthright with the husband. 

She was usually around when I spoke with the husband. I will tell him this is not going to work and its true, at the end of the road he will see it will not work.
