The Israeli Ambassador to
Nigeria, Mr. Uriel Palti has expressed his condolence to the Chairman
and Publisher, the New Telegraph newspaper, Dr. Orji Uzor Kalu over the
tragic death of the Managing Editor (North) of the publication, Malam
Suleiman Bisalla.
Malam Bisalla was among the over 21 Nigerians tragically killed on Wednesday bomb blast at EMAB Plaza, Abuja, the Federal Capital Territory.
In a condolence letter to Dr. Kalu,
dated the 27th day of June 2014, Mr. Palti who expressed shock over the
tragic incident said the untimely death of the young journalist who has
been described by his colleagues as a versatile and committed reporter
and an editor with rare eyes for details will create a wide vacuum among
the practitioners of the profession.
He further revealed how the late
Suleiman in company with his three other colleagues had an extensive
interview with him in the Embassy, saying it was for him a great and
exciting experience to get to know the late journalist.
“I must sincerely share in your grief.
On behalf of the Embassy of Israel, I wish to extend my heart-felt
condolence to the family of the deceased, the staff and management of
your newspaper and the nation at large over the gruesome killings of
other bomb blast victims.
“Internationally, terrorism should be
unequivocally condemned by all and sundry as the scourge knows no
boundaries,” the Ambassador said.
He however pray God to give Bisalla’s
the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss, adding that withing the
shortest possible time, the menace of insurgency will be a thing of the
past in Nigeria.
